DUTIES OF THE STUDENT
The student is expected to…
- Be in school before the first period starts and attend the flag ceremony.
- Refrain from cutting classes and making absences without a valid reason.
- Not to loiter around the school campus during class hours and after the classes are dismissed.
- Help maintain the cleanliness of the school.
- Exercise respect, courtesy, and obedience towards teachers and superiors.
- Observe loyalty to the school and school administration.
- Be clear and honest: Towards classmates, schoolmates, teachers, and other school authorities and themselves; Towards school works and studies; In personality and things (proper haircut, uniform with ID, school properties).
- Be a good sport and be considerate to others.
- Comply with requirements expected from all subjects.
DUTIES OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Parents
and guardians are expected to…
- Personally attend all conferences and meetings called by the school relevant to the student’s welfare.
- Be cooperative in all school programs and activities such as tree planting, food production campaigns, and the implementation of the school rules and regulations for the improvement of the students.
- Refrain from oral, written, or phone complaints unless there has been a prior confrontation with the teacher or principal of the school.
- Be in proper behavior and in proper attire whenever you come to the school for any transactions.
- Monitor the academic performance of the student at all times.
- Respect persons in authority at all times.
- Strongly assist the school in its massive campaign against dangerous and prohibited drugs.
- Personally get the report card of the student on scheduled dates.
POLICY STATEMENT
Any student of Labogon National High School (LNHS), irrespective of classification whether he/she is from Junior High School (JHS) or Senior High School (SHS), who commits an offense against the school or its school personnel shall be subjected to disciplinary action.COVERAGE
All students of LNHS are covered by the School Policies and Regulations for Discipline.ADMINISTRATOR
The principal or any teacher directly supervising the student concerned shall ensure that discipline of the student is maintained and upheld; he/she shall assume the responsibility of enforcing disciplinary measures to any violation of the School Policies and Regulations.PROVISIONS
DISCIPLINING ACTIONS
A. Verbal
Warning –
a form of warning given orally by any administrator/teacher when a student
violates certain policies of the school.
B. Written
Warning
– a written notice given to a student for having committed an infraction (or
violation) of a rule, calling his attention that repetition of an offense will
be dealt with more severely.
A.
Conference
with the Guidance Coordinator – the student
and the parent shall be invited at the guidance office to discuss the student’s
behavior.
B.
Conference
with the School Head – if the matter is
not resolved during the conference with the guidance coordinator, it shall be
escalated to the principal’s office.
C.
Suspension
-
a penalty imposed on an offender ranging from three (3) days to the rest of the
school year for having committed the same offense after having received a
written warning or another more serious
offense whether or not he has received a written warning.
D.
Positive
Discipline
(School Service) – number of days service depending on the gravity of the
offense.
PENALTIES
For specific penalties of each offense, refer to Table of Offenses & Penalties.The class adviser is urged to follow the proper procedures in enforcing disciplinary action, using the following:
- Adviser’s Complaint/Incident Report
- Memo by the Discipline Coordinator duly signed by the Principal
- Disciplinary Action Memo by the Discipline Coordinator duly signed by the Principal
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
Immediately after a student allegedly commits an offense, the principal shall see to it that the following steps and procedures for disciplinary action shall be followed:
1. The Discipline Coordinator investigates & reviews the facts of the case; prepares the memo duly signed by the principal & gives it to the student concerned.
2. The student submits his/her explanation to the Discipline Coordinator and is duly noted by the class adviser within twenty-four (24) hours after receipt of the memo.
3. The Discipline Coordinator:
a.
evaluates the
student’s explanation and with evidence on hand;
b.
reviews student’s
records & the Table of Offenses and Penalties;
c.
consults the school
principal in evaluating the case; and
d. after making the Evaluation & Recommendation, he/she prepares and signs Disciplinary Action Memo to be confirmed by the principal, then, serves it on the erring student thru his/her parent/s or guardian/s with copies furnished to the class adviser.
4.
The erring student
signs on the Disciplinary Action Memo, signifying his/her concurrence to the
penalty.
